The Atlantic Commemorating King

On April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. was in Memphis, Tennessee to support a sanitation workers’ strike when he was fatally shot while standing on the balcony outside his second-story room at the Lorraine Motel.

In 2018, The Atlantic published a special edition to mark the 50th anniversary of King’s assassination. The creative team at The Atlantic came to Champions to art direct and design the special issue celebrating the life and words of Martin Luther King Jr.
