Broadway Housing Communities has been an enduring protector of the rights of New York City’s homeless for four decades. 

Headquartered in the Heritage Rose District of New York City, the organization has provided quality housing to those in need, has connected underserved communities with access to the arts, and has afforded countless individuals pathways out of poverty. 

All that BHC has achieved is owed to the pioneering work of their founder and leader of forty years, Ellen Baxter.

To celebrate this landmark moment, BHC approached Champions to develop an event identity for 2023’s Annual Gala. BHC@40 is centered around the motif of the blooming flower. Tending to a garden was a common metaphor in Ellen’s work.
